Colombia-Production-2011-Fairfield-Estimate1In February 2011 I traveled extensively the south of Huila coffee regions of Suaza, Garzon, San Agustin and El Pital. The coffee trees were in full blossom. The coffee flower Jasmin sent was delicious and the coffee landscape was a great treat to the eye.
Our field observations coincide with the generalized view and comments by growers indicating that the second semester 2011 harvest is likely to be an important one, even above the 10 year production average. Producers are preparing themselves. We noticed several farms like the farm of Don Sigifredo in Suaza below with new process facilities.
Our production estimate for 2011 is now 10.750,000 bags +/- 250,000 up from our last assessment. See Colombia-Production-2011-Fairfield-Estimate1
